At the Royal Geographic Society in London in June, more than 35 leading thinkers gathered to identify the key components of a research agenda. They discussed the likelihood of stagnating donor funding requiring a greater contribution to total HIV resources from affected countries and a policy framework aimed at assisting African finance ministries prioritise HIV investments.
Participants included Professor Baron Peter Piot of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Professor Sir Roy Anderson of Imperial College, and Professor Paul Collier of the Centre for the Study of African Economies at The University of Oxford.
